Legal Basis & Types
Under Section 435–458 of the Companies Act, 2017, and the Foreign Companies Regulations, 2018, foreign companies may register in Pakistan as:
- Branch Office – execute specific contracts only
- Liaison Office – promotional/technical, non-commercial
- Wholly Owned Subsidiary (Private Limited) – fully controlled, commercial entity
Pre-Registration Approvals
- BOI Permission: Required for both branch and liaison offices .
- Sectoral Approvals: Energy, telecom, financial sectors may also need Ministry or SBP clearance.

Name Reservation & Submission

- Resolution/authority to open office
